One of the coolest new events at the NBA All-Star weekend was this game called āRising Starsā, where NBA legends and personalities Shaquille OāNeil and Charles Barkley drafted NBA rookies onto their own rosters to play in the game. The best part about this event was watching Shaq and Chuck bicker over their smarts and legendary statuses.

Since the first days of the Slam-Dunk contest when Michael Jordan was marveled for making a dunk from the free-throw lineā¦ things have become a little more complex. It seems like nowadays to win a dunk contest, you have to have costumes and write plots to āwowā people. This yearās dunk winner was Jeremy Evans for his two-ball dunk while jumping over a teammate.

And there was the All-Star Game. Nicki Minaj performed the Musical Act to introduce the players. The game was spectacular, full of jaw dropping skilled plays, great dunks and lots of points. Kobe Bryant ed Michael Jordan as the all-time All-Star leading scorer and Kevin Durant won the MVP as the West beat the East 151-149.
