rap, each song is nicely-crafted pop tunes and we definitely see the different colors of Katy (like a prism, right?). In many ways this album plays it safe, so not every song is a memorable Katy classic, but the entire album is enjoyable and showcases her vocal talent impressively.

Although a lot of the album focuses on being a stronger person all on your own, Prism also has some great reflections on party jams to break up the ballads, like the layered "This Is How We Do," and remarkably one of the best tracks on the album is strange "Dark Horse," featuring Juicy J. Katy's incredible voice really shows what it can do with this tricky trap music beat, and shows us all a cooler side of Katy.
