For four days every January, some of the world’s most extreme athletes flock to Aspen, Colorado for the annual Winter X Games. For those of you in the dark, we have the scoop on the coolest event of the year!

There will be plenty of household names that will competing in Aspen in 2007. Snowboarder TJ Schiller, Karin Huttari and Blair Morgan.

Riding dirt bikes on the slopes is apparently too dangerous - even for the X Games. This year Moto X has been wiped off the list of events. Replacing Moto X is the disabled sit-skiers race down a course with bank turns and jumps.

The Winter X Games is entering its 11th season and take place from January 25-28 in 2007. The competitions are battled out at breathtaking Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen, Colorado. Live coverage of the games will be broadcasted on ESPN and ABC.

  • 28 Winter X Games athletes from the 2006 games also competed in the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin, Italy.
  • With most events at night, five generators of electricity are required to light up Buttermilk Mountain.
  • In order to get every angle, there are more than 80 cameras posted all over the mountain.
  • Some of the musical artists scheduled to perform at the games in 2007 are Slash from Guns and Roses, Pennywise and the Dead Kennedys.
